How long long does it take to build a typical site? It varies on what type of site is being built. If it is a simplistic 1-page site it can be up and running within a week. Ecommerce and CMS sites can take several months. The design and complexity of the site are the two factors that determine the time it will take to complete a site. However, we can also try and work within your schedule to complete your site in a timely manner.

What are the basic steps in building a site? TCG wants to help you build a site that reflects both you and your business. To start out with, look through our web design and service pages to find out what kind of site you think would work best for you.

Contact us by visiting our contact page or visit our quote page to give us some background information on the project you would like to get started. After we receive your query and information, TCG will contact you to start discussing your web design project.

How does the design process work with TCG? After contacting TCG we will contact you regarding your design and project ideas. TCG will usually ask you a bunch of questions before the design process begins; we will also send you color, font, and graphics samples to help you narrow down the look of your site. Our clients are involved in the design process from start to finish We also create a Project Update page where you can login and see the progress of your project..

How can I help my site design go more quickly? When contacting TCG about your website needs please have an idea of what kind of project you are looking for, blog, business site, catalog... also have some ideas of how you want the site to look and how you want it to function. We, of course, can help you visualize your needs and will work with you until you get the perfect site.

A site will also be completed more quickly if you have all your content ready and reply to our inquiries quickly. Changes to a design or site will also influence the site's completion time.

Can I update my site?Most sites can be updated easily with knowledge of basic HTML and CSS. Many of our shopping carts/ ecommerce programs are designed so you can update your site easily. CMS or content management sites can be created with a template design and clients will be able to add, edit, and delete pages from the site easily.Blog sites are also template-driven and can be easily updated. WordPress, B2evolution, LiveJournal and Blogger are just some types of blogging software to choose from.

Basic HTML sites can be updated easily with just a little know-how. We will provide the tutorials and areas for changes and before you know it you can upload changes and pages with ease. Of course we can update your site for a nominal fee.

What kind of shopping carts does TCG use?We use a variety of shopping carts, but typically we program for Zen Cart, OS Commerce, Paypal, and CubeCart. Please contact us for other cart information.

What kind of testing does TCG do?TCG will provide HTML validation, link validation, proofreading, and cross-browser/cross-platform testing.TCG will not be responsible for errors to the site due to changes and updates not made by TCG.

Can TCG backup or save a copy of my site in case of an emergency?At the completion of your website project we will make you a CD copy of your final site free of charge. However, we will not be responsible for future backups. You can sign up for TCG's site backup service where we will make backup copies of your site and/or database files as often as agreed upon. Backups will be stored on a back up hard drive and in a directory on your web server.We will be in not be responsible for loss of your data, but will make an e attempt to save your data. If you your site needs to be restored from backup files, we will charge an hourly rate for the time it takes to restore your site.
